Fun, bright two-year-old boy's room - Instagram winner

Lucky little two-year-old Christian has an amazing bedroom designed by his Mum Nina. And soon it will also include the gorgeous Little Red Industries tree shelf as Christian's room has won Round 3 of the Australian Kids Room competition on Instagram. It's light, bright and has great balance. I really like the simplicity of this white room with its neutral furniture and great use of primary colours. Read on for Nina's advice on putting together a fun boy's room:

Black, white and yellow boy's bedroom - 9 years

Amy from Happy As Larry Designs showcases the gorgeous black and white felt rug that she designed in her son Isaac's room. The grey walls are a great base for the monochrome elements and the pops of yellow. Isaac loves being silly and bouncing around but also wants a quiet space to listen to music, sit and read on his beanbag, and play with his Lego. Isaac has Autism, so Amy wanted to create a room for him that caters to some of his sensory needs. Read on for more tips from Amy on creating a great room for her 9-year-old son.

Freedom and Real Living magazine eiderdown

I thought you'd like a peek at the sweet eiderdown from the Real Living magazine and Freedom collaborative homewares and bedding collection that has just been launched. I'm sharing all the photos from the sumptuous lunch tomorrow here on Bondville, but in the meantime, here is the Sunny Heart quilt that I received at the launch. My 7-year-old adores it on her bed:

Monochrome toddler's room by Young Folk

Monochrome is big right now and what better place to experiment than you're child's room! Keep it simple in black and white, or layer with greys and a pop or two or colour. Clever Sydney-based Melissa Lee from the Young Folk online children's interiors store and styling service designed this amazing bedroom for her client's 2-year-old son. My favourite? The back-of-door bear decal - so fun!

Would you like a peek at my daughter's room? It's very real - look... no ironed bed linen! It's a brand new quilt cover and pillow scored in the sales at Country Road, and new Rosie The Dreamer pillow case from One In A Melon Designs that I bought for her for her recent 5th birthday. It's a pillow and a softie all in one! We usually pop a favourite toy on the bed, but I can't bare to cover up Rosie's face. Here are all the details of the room:

Grace's pretty pastel girl's bedroom

I don't know about you, but my girls are just drawn to pastel colours, pinks and yellows. I promise it's not forced on them - I'm always presenting them with cool grey, black, monotone and darker colours - but they just can't get enough of a candy-sweet palette. (also, they would have floral everything - yikes!)

Tara Chadwick's daughter also loves softer colours and this Mum has done an amazing job of curating a room full of lovely girly touches without being cloying. The pastel palette with bright yellow against a white/neutral background is a real winner. Tara kindly shares some of her advice on creating a lovely room just like this.

Georgia's mint, pink and gold bedroom

My daughter has mint-painted walls in her bedroom and I tell you, it has not been an easy task for me to pull together her room. Luckily, I can take inspiration from Sydney children's interior designer Kate Sparks of Little Dwellings who shares her daughter Georgia's room, below. Kate makes mint sing - in fact, the room would not be nearly as cute with white walls.

I had coffee with Kate yesterday to chat through how she put this room together and she is not just clever and stylish, but the sweetest person you can imagine too! She very generously shared lots of information about her daughter's room - so many pieces are designed and made in Australia. Let's have a good look:

3 Year Old Maisyn's Sweet Room

Welcome to 3-year-old Maisyn's lovely bedroom. These gorgeous photos are by one of my favourite child portrait and kids' interior photographers - Danielle Trovato Photography. Maisyn's Mum is the clever Samantha Mungean of Maisy Dee - an online store stocking handmade essentials for babies and kids. Many of the pieces that you will find below are recycled and renovated, or made by Sam. Read on to find out more about this special room that will grow with cutie Maisyn.

Maisyn wears: Minti pants, Country Road long-sleeved top, Bobo Choses jumper
Quilt: White quilt cover from Spotlight and vintage kantha from eBay

The neutral-coloured walls and floor make a great canvas for the lovely muted colour palette in Maisyn's room. Choosing black polks dots was so clever - they pick up the legs of the Acapulco chair and help the room feel modern, without competing with the artworks and colour.

Poppy's big girl room with pops of fuchsia pink

Two-year-old Poppy has been expecting a baby brother or sister to arrive, so it was time to set up a 'big girl' room. Mum Stacey said, "Minky Mary the dummy fairy delivered the bed in exchange for Poppy's dummies! Two big rites of passage in one weekend. Big girl Poppy has taken it all in her stride however and impressed her mummy and daddy no end. Couldn't be prouder of our grown-up girl."

Read on for all the info on Poppy's sweet big girl bedroom with its pops of fuchsia pink. How amazing is the paper doe sculpture on Poppy's wall!

Sunday Collector confetti wall 1-year-old bedroom

Interior stylist and props buyer Briar Stanley from Sunday Collector knows a thing or two about putting together gorgeous, livable rooms. I'm thrilled to share with you the nursery that Briar created for her one-year-old daughter Sunday. It's an amazing space and I'm super-inspired by the amount of DIY, upcycling, vintage and handmade items that Briar mixes with a few modern designer pieces.
I also love the use of the chalkboard and bold grey walls which are a refreshing change from white! The grey colour (Taubmans Inverness) allows the colours in the room to really pop.

Briar was inspired by Beci Orpin's book Find and Keep (see my review of the launch here) to create a gorgeous confetti wall for Sunday's bedroom. You can also see a similar confetti wall looking amazing at Danielle Trovato's daughter's party right here on Bondville. It's an instant celebration in Sunday's room!

Rachel Castle's kids' rooms in I Love My Room book by Megan Morton

If you follow uber-stylist and champion-of-beauty Megan Morton on any social media, you will know that her exuberance and love of life is infectious. This joyfulness has translated beautifully into her new book showcasing... wait for it... children's rooms!!!! I Love My Room documents kids' rooms with heart and soul, by some of Australia's most talented parents.

Would you like a sneak peek? I'm so thrilled to showcase the rooms of artist/homewares designer Rachel Castle's children Cleo (10) and Lucky (7) in Sydney. The use of judicious colour against a neutral base and lots of Rachel's lovely artwork is right up my alley. I think this book might have been written just for me.

Real kids room: Meredith Gaston-inspired bedroom

More real kids' room goodness from the Ivens family for you today. Kelly Ivens took a different approach from her son Kirby's room when designing her daughter Lexi's space. The red, pink and white colour theme is built around two gorgeous Meredith Gaston original canvases, custom-designed to feature the family's dogs. It's a light, bright, inspiring room that I'm sure her daughter will love for years.

Lexi's Room (age 5)

Lexi's room has been designed to incorporate the bold red, pale pink and white colour palette in the artworks. It's bright, light and fun. The lush charcoal grey carpet is a great contrast and provides a strong platform for the light, bright colours - and ties beautifully with the dogs and touches of grey in the Meredith Gaston canvases. Keeping all the furniture white and the walls neutral allows the artwork to really shine.

Real Kids Room: grey chevron 2 year old boy's bedroom

I've featured on Meredith Gaston's gorgeous artwork here on Bondville before, so when I spotted Kelly Iven's childrens' bedrooms on The Wall Sticker Company website, I knew they would be a perfect fit for Bondville. Kelly was the winner of the The Wall Sticker Company Room Of The Year competition for her son Kirby's amazing room featuring the grey chevron removable wallpaper. I thought we would start this real kids room tour with Kirby's room - it's pretty amazing!
