Maryanne Moodie rugs for Arro Home - yeah!

Arro Home has nailed it with these gorgeous rugs designed by Aussie weaving expert Maryanne Moodie, now living in New York City and owning the loom over there too. These pieces are gorgeous - I want both the Adamas and Desert Storm rugs - and look fantastic with Arro home's signature cat and eye cushions and range of bedding.

Felt is such a cosy, welcoming material and so soft underfoot. You've probably already seen felt ball rugs in all the cool kids' bedrooms; Bondville sponsor Happy as Larry Designs has launched a collection of hot new stripe felt rugs in two gelato-fresh colourways.

The Raspberry Ripple rug with fuchsia (so on-trend right now!), chooclate, vanilla and banana stripes is $289. Pair this rug with the looks-great-with-everything three metre Felt Ball Garland in a rainbow of colours for $34.95.

The Lemonade Twist rug ($289) would work well for both boys' and girls' rooms with its aqua, snow and lemon stripes. Add a cool Felt Kite decoration for $44.95 and super-cute Felt Teddy Bear for $44.95 to cosy up a child's room.

Both 80cm x 120cm rugs are designed in Australia by Amy from Happy as Larry Designs who has a Fine Arts degree in textiles. They are then handmade with love and care by Amy's carefully selected artisans in Nepal with heavily felted 100% New Zealand wool. New Armadillo&Co Flower Weaves kids rugs

I'm massively excited to see the new 2014 styles from Australian rug designers extraordinaire Armadillo&Co. Building on the hugely successful Daisy and Dandelion designs, the new Junior Collection rugs retain the hemp centre coil, circled by new wool petals providing a colour pop.

I can imagine those little feet loving the textures of surprsingly-soft hemp and luxurious New Zealand wool. The Dandelion and Daisy designs in the natural colourway also come in a larger 1.55m size. All Armadillo&Co items are hand crafted in India to the highest ethical Care&Fair standards, protecting all children and giving profits back to their weavers’ villages in India.

You can find the new Junior Collection in the online store from February 2014. The adult rugs are amazing too - check out the gorgeous Moroccan-inspired Marrakesh design. Read more about Armadillo&Co here on Bondville.

New Armadillo and Co fairtrade rugs for kids

Here's something I have been waiting to share with you for a long time - fabulous fairtrade rug company Armadillo & Co has just launched their Junior Collection for kids and it's amazing. The collection includes classic stripes, colourful circle rugs, and the super-popular Armadillo & Co signature flower-shaped rug. We have the mini dandelion and it's gorgeous! Perfect for a child's room and also a smaller adult space.

Note the IKEA PS 2012 quilt cover and the Trio of Wall Birds wooden wall decor by Naomi Murrell!

I spy an adorable Herbert and Friends pirate cushion, and the Flying Machines art print by Printspace. Isn't that Kombi van cushion great! Curio & Curio/Two Ruffians had a similar design a while ago.

The Armadillo & Co rugs are handmade from soft hemp and pure wool in hardwearing weaves. The rugs are made in collaboration with artisans in India and are created under fair trade conditions. Head to the Armadillo & Co websiteto read more about the company's charitable operations in India. The company has a long tradition of working with local communities, through founder Jodie Fried's previous company, the much-loved Bholu.

The Junior Collection is launching on 1st August 2013 and available by preorder in the online store soon and at these stockists: An Inside Story (NSW), Stone & Grain (VIC), Southwood (VIC).

Drool-worthy Design: Nicola Cerini textiles

It's no secret that I'm a sucker for textiles and native Australian flora, so I was in heaven when I investigated the fabulous range of prints and fabric by Nicola Cerini. Well-known for her "Plasto" bag designs, Nicola is now creating gorgeous rugs, ceramics, and homewares using her screen-printed illustrations.

Nicola Cerini fabrics are available by the metre and you can order one of Nicola's bag designs in current and archival prints. I'm also excited to see that Nicola has recently collaborated with Zaishu on a new stool covered with designs inspired by the native flora and wildlife of the Errinundra plateau.

Not only are Nicola's designs totally drool-worthy, but her business ethics are just as admirable, supporting conservation projects and running her studio on sustainable principles.

You can find Nicola Cerini products in the online store as well as the studio retail store in Melbourne.
