Black, white and yellow boy's bedroom - 9 years

Amy from Happy As Larry Designs showcases the gorgeous black and white felt rug that she designed in her son Isaac's room. The grey walls are a great base for the monochrome elements and the pops of yellow. Isaac loves being silly and bouncing around but also wants a quiet space to listen to music, sit and read on his beanbag, and play with his Lego. Isaac has Autism, so Amy wanted to create a room for him that caters to some of his sensory needs. Read on for more tips from Amy on creating a great room for her 9-year-old son.

Room: Isaac's black, white and yellow wilderness-themed bedroom

What a cool dude! Isaac loves his monochrome space with pops of yellow and timber accessories.

If money/time/space was no object, what would you love to include in this room?
We still need to get a desk for homework and lego building and would love a Rafa kids desk in black!

What is Isaac's favourite part of the room?
He loves his night light from DIY lights - means he can read at night, sometimes without my knowledge! Hooks on the walls are great too for hanging his headphones, library bag and other paraphernalia he has.

Any tips or tricks that you can share for making a monochrome room?
I generally love colour but for a boy the monochrome works well. Any other pops of colour can be added to it. We went with yellow pops but you could do any other colour you like. To change it up we sometimes add a colourful blanket in winter and a few different coloured cushions.

Thanks so much Amy for your tips. Read more about Isaac's room on the Happy As Larry Designs website, right here and more of Amy's tips for creating a black and white bedroom here.
