Harper's Mum Karlee put together this very sweet bedroom for her using a white base with aqua and pops colour, contrasting with earthy, textural accessories. Read on for more..
Room: Harper's bedroom
Age: 5
Designed by: Mum, Karlee

Busy patterns work well together if they share a similar colour palette and are broken up with lots of white:
Love cushion: Cushion from FlowerPower Garden Centre
Blue Heart cushion: Hide and Seek heart cushion from Incy Interiors
Quilted pillow case: Adairs
Spot pillow case: Feliz pillow case from Lilly & Lolly
Doona cover: Confetti Belle from Lilly & Lolly
Pom pom garland: Adairs
Indian kantha quilt: Rice
Tassel blanket: Confetti Belle from Lilly & Lolly
Rug: Armadillo & Co. Daisy rug from Lilly & Lolly
Crocodile toy: Mr Crocodile was a gift from friends - it goes everywhere with Harper.
Doll: My Teeny-Tiny Doll by Cook You Some Noodles. Handmade by a talented mum from our mothers group
Blue Heart cushion: Hide and Seek heart cushion from Incy Interiors
Doona cover: Confetti Belle from Lilly & Lolly
Harper loves greenery - how gorgeous is her fairy terrarium!!
Apple-shaped terrarium: Woolworths (Karlee added the fairy)
Small cactus: Local greengrocer in Glebe.
Large succulent: Potteround Floral Design in Rozelle. A reward for good behaviour!
Mini chair: Freedom
Side table: IKEA Bekvam step stool
The natural tones and texture of the woven plant container, hemp rug and jute toy storage ground the room and make it feel more grown-up; change out a few soft accessories, and this room will work beautifully through Harper's teen years too:
Bed: Domayne
Doona cover: Confetti Belle from Lilly & Lolly
Flat sheet: Doona cover used as flat sheet from Work-Shop
Plant basket: FlowerPower Garden Centre
Chair: Adairs
A jute woven toys' storage basket in natural tones keeps all the dress-ups and soft toys in check:
Bed: Domayne
Indian kantha quilt: Rice
Toy storage: Jute basket from Lilly & Lolly
Cloud cushion: Adairs
Rabbit cushion: Adairs
Chalkboard: IKEA
Pom pom garland: Adairs
One of my favourite aspects of Harper's room is the name decal behind the bed that she put up herself - the slighly imperfect placement makes it even more charming.
Dream catcher: Market find
Quilted pillow case: Adairs
Spot pillow case: Feliz pillow case from Lilly & Lolly
Doona cover: Confetti Belle from Lilly & Lolly
Flat sheet: Doona cover used as flat sheet from Work-Shop
Pom pom garland: Adairs
Bird decoration: Papaya
Letter wall decals: Typo
If money/time/space was no object, what would you love to include in this room?
A swing! I also want to add a hanging branch above her bed which Harper can hang more treasures from.
What is your daughter's favourite part of the room?
Harper loves nature and flowers and is very visual. She loves her room, especially her bed which she chose- she hung all the items on her bed head and regularly changes it around. Her little piece of nature (plant) is an equal favourite.
Any tips or tricks that you can share for making a sweet girl's room?
Firstly, good storage. Secondly, design the room around the child's tastes and display their favourite treasures. This will make for a interesting space that looks authentic.
Thank you so much Karlee for sharing Harper's room; such a sweet room for a 5-year-old that I know will grow with her too.
