Before Armadillo & Co., there was Bholu - Jodie Fried's beautiful Australian label creating ethically-made felt homewares for adults and children. We have adored our Bholu cushions, children's bed linen, soft toys, and throws. I can't bear to part with them, and you just can't find them in stores anymore. Lucky for us, I spotted some great Bholu pieces on eBay that would look beautiful in a nursery. Keep reading below for more...

Loving: Greg Natale for Porter's Paints wallpaper
I get a lot of press releases in my inbox, but I couldn't resist this one from Porter's Paints who have teamed up with celebrated Australian interior designer Greg Natale to create cool-as-a-cucumber wallpaper as part of the Porter's Paints Stripes collection (handmade right here in Sydney). The real question is Which One? You will find Greg's designs in the Porter's Paints online store from early December 2012. Read more about Porter's Paints here on Bondville.

Removable wallpaper from The Wall Sticker Company
If you are a commitment-phobe (like me), or a renter (like me), or both (like me), then you will love these amazing removable wallpaper designs from Bondville sponsor The Wall Sticker Company (like me!). The wallpaper is both removable and movable, so you can move it to other walls, and has a washable, fabric surface. Here are some of the great designs on offer:
My absolute favourite is the World Map removable wallpaper. You probably remember seeing this wallpaper on Rowan's bedroom here - it looks amazing. Add removable wall sticker dots to the wallpaper to show where you have been, or where family and friends live. Fun and educational too.
Fantastic randomly-placed Spot removable wallpaper designed by Australian actor, TV presenter and now interior designer and homewares creator, Jane Hall. All the colour options sound great - hot pink, aqua, yellow, grey, red or green on white.
Fun Zoo removable wallpaper by Melbourne artist Jane Reiseger that would work beautifully with her Albi the Elephant and other range of nursery products at Nest Homewares.
Designs for little ones that co-ordinate perfectly with the nursery bed linen by Bondville friend Carla from Habitat Baby. This Floral removable wallpaper in pink is sugar-sweet.
Gorgeous for kids of all ages and adults too, the Herringbone and Horses removable wallpaper by Clair Wyman from Curio & Curio (read more about Clair here on Bondville) comes in aqua, black, cocoa and purple colourways.
You can find these and other gorgeous wallpaper designs (including those by Paige Russell) in The Wall Sticker Company in the online store.

Paige Russell for The Wall Sticker Company
Bondville sponsors and clever clogs The Wall Sticker Company have collaborated with uber-cool up-and-coming Canadian designer Paige Russell on a collection of removable wall decals and fabric wallpaper.
Paige's designs are inspired by her Canadian homeland of vast mountains and forests - gorgeous against your favourite Scandinavian furniture and the kids' toys. I'm super-partial to the geometric triangle design which is both soothing and very current - would love it for my study.
The Wall Sticker Company decals and wallpaper are BPA-free and made in Australia. Choose from a huge range of decals and wallpaper by Australian and international designers.
You can find Paige Russell's designs for The Wall Sticker Company in the online store.

Muffin and Mani wallpaper and murals
Those clever bods at online kids store Baby's Got Style know a thing or two about buying, and when I spotted the Muffin and Mani wallpaper in their latest newsletter I just about knocked over my cup of Milo clicking through to the site as fast as I could. I loved The Animal Alphabet straight away, and then spent the next half hour lost on the site...
Muffin and Mani are based in Mapleton, Queensland, and have opened up to the public their previously only-for-interior-designers collection of wallpaper and murals for big and little people. How cool. The only tricky bit is choosing one!
All Muffin and Mani wallpapers are produced using eco-friendly PVC-free papers and non-solvent inks. If you have something special in mind, they are able to customise designs too (just ask).
You can find Muffin and Mani at stockists internationally.

Baby Bondville's Doll Nook
We are moving house next week and as I've been starting to pack, I thought I would take a few photos of some of my favourite corners of our house.
It's an amazing space - an old Federation house with high ceilings and detailed plasterwork, Federation regulation colours (cream, green, burgundy), leadlight windows and a gorgeous garden. We are going to miss it a lot, but are looking forward to our new tree house, right on the edge of a national park.
This particular corner is my little one's doll nook, above a built-in desk. I covered the cork board with wallpaper (Bholu's Majorie Duck by Porter's Paints), and leaned against it a framed Suzy Ultman print. The ragdoll is Harriette from eeni meeni miini moh and the sweet Japanese doll was made using a new sewing kit by the red thread (to be released online in March 2012). I'll have to see where I can fit the lovely wallpaper in our new place.

Lara Cameron for The Wall Sticker Company

Every so often I come across a partnership that seems so perfect - Bholu and Porters Paints, paper boat press and Bespoke Letterpress Boutique, Tiny Concept and Udessi.Today I've got one more to add to the list - the very clever collaboration between much-loved textile designer Lara Cameron and The Wall Sticker Company. You can now find some of Lara's most popular designs on wall decals and wallpaper-like panels. I just know that the 'Birch' design is going to go gangbusters.
This is the first of a series of guest designers for The Wall Sticker Company and I can't wait to find out who else is on the cards. You can find Lara's Designs at The Wall Sticker Company website and at select stockists across Australia.

Australian Artist Spotlight: KT Doyle wallpaper and textiles

KT Doyle is a successful exhibiting artist who has recently made the move to commercial product development of environmentally-sustainable textiles, wallpaper and print artwork. KT won a Creative Sparks grant from the Brisbane City Council in 2008 to develop a range that sits at the junction of art, craft and design - beautiful pieces with depth and story that could live equally on a gallery wall, or covering your favourite chair. You may have noticed KT's most recent work in the window of SPACE Furniture in Brisbane where she collaborated with Porter's Paints for Moooi to create a still life display window - much like the Dutch masters' - in 3D. The Falling Leaves design is gorgeous, as you can see above.
KT offers commissions, and a growing collection of limited edition original works on paper. Wallpaper and textiles are now offered commercially - contact KT directly for more information. And if you didn't catch KT at the great Pecha Kucha event in Brisbane last week, you can check out the slides about KT's Creative Grants journery on her blog.

Australian Artist Spotlight: Jeremyville
As well as creating art, Jeremyville is a clever product developer and you can find Jeremyville satchels, sneakers, toys, skate decks, t-shirts, caps, stickers, and other hip products. But I'm most excited about the incredible wallpaper (see image above). There are lots of potential applications both commercial and residential, and you can pick it up from French site Domestic.
You can find Jeremyville products and more information about the man himself on the website.

Florence Broadhurst Pop-up Shop
Australian artist and wallpaper designer Florence Broadhurst was born in rural Queensland, Australia in 1899 and had a huge impact on the design world throughout her life. The re-release of her designs by Signature Prints has sparked another revival and her work is much-loved around the world.
The Pop-up Store will be open from Saturday November 22nd to Sunday December 21st, 2008 and Florence Broadhurst wallpapers, fabrics, limited edition art, cushions, ottomans, handbags and more will be available for purchase.
The concept of a pop-up store is also very cool - providing locals access to a brand for a limited time, and at the same time gauging consumer interest. Illy had an amazing pop-up cafe in New York when we were living there, and Target has descended upon Times Square with limited time pop-up stores also.
The Florence Broadhurst Brisbane Pop-Up Store will be open Mon-Thurs 10am-6pm, Fri 10am-8pm, Sat 10am-5pm and Sun 12pm-4pm at 67 James St, Fortitude Valley.
Thanks to Alischa from Bespoke Press for the heads-up.
