Portrait photography styled by Tutu du Monde in Sydney this weekend

It's a game of dress ups where you leave with incredible portrait photos of your little girls (age 1-12 years). Sound good? Tutu du Monde  has teamed up with photographer Camille Nuttall to capture your kids with professionally styled hair and gorgeous outfits from the latest collection, against a super cool backdrop of modern, French and vintage props. And she can take home a favourite dress from the collection too!

Premium Photo Christmas Cards from Milk and Honey Photography

Here's another great pre-Christmas special, this time from my friends at Milk & Honey Photography in Rozelle, Sydney. They are offering a limited time Christmas Package which includes a family portrait session, framed 7x10" print (custom black or white frame from Corban & Blair), two matted 5x7" prints and twenty luxury Christmas cards.

Photo Christmas cards are such a great way to send your love to family and friends, and they often stay on the fridge well past the holiday period. Most times, however, the quality is a little so-so. Milk & Honey Photography are offering a quality premium postcard-style Christmas Card for your nearest and dearest, printed on gorgeous stock and double-sided for a personal message on the back.

The Very Special Christmas Package from Milk & Honey Photography is $395 and available only until 30th November 2012, so make sure you talk to Anni, Matthew or Laura and book in quick sticks! For more details, head to the current newsletter here.

My professional portrait photos - eek!

I've been wanting to have some professional photos taken for a long time - to go with my bio and with pieces that I have written for publications and other websites. So who better to ask than my friends at Milk & Honey Photography in Rozelle. I'm not used to posting images of myself, but thought you might like to see how some of them turned out, and what the experience was like.

Matthew Duchesne loves taking portrait photos and his style is very much about getting his clients out of the office and in an environment that makes them feel relaxed. We met up at Rosebud Cafe in Rozelle and had a chat about what I wanted to use the images for, and the kind of feel I was looking for. I wanted something relaxed, informal, warm and fun and definitely not corporate at all. I ordered a hot chai tea and a white chocolate and raspberry muffin and we got to work. How amazing are these shots in the cafe with the blackboard behind.

Hip Products: m2matiz t.lighthaus© lanterns and photography

These t.lighthaus© lanterns are such a clever concept by photographers, graphic arts and designers m2matiz. Melbourne-based Mariana and partner designed these chic translucent lanterns to be placed over a tealight candle (preferably in a reused glass jar), creating a soft glow and highlighting the beautiful photographic design.

m2matiz also sells a range of stationery printed and handcrafted in Melbourne including gift cards, gift tags, journals and prints, showcasing the gorgeous photography of the m2matiz team. I'm of course partial to the very Australian eucalyptus blossom photographs; always a great gift for overseas friends and family. And wherever possible m2matiz reduses, reuses and uses recycled materials in the range of products.

You can order m2matiz products through designer Mariana directly (check the website for details), on Etsy and from stockists around Australia.

Cool Websites: Mishy Lane

I was really excited to discover Brisbane photographer, designer and blogger Mishy Lane through Decor8 today.

Mishy's blog takes you through her daily inspirations as well as a sneak peek of gorgeous photo shoots and updates on new logo designs (that you can comment on to provide feedback!). You'll also find some of Mishy's loves, including art, craft, interior design and jewellery. And plenty of Bris Town snippets thrown in there as well.

Check out the Mishy Lane online portfolio for great graphic design, logos, branding and photography. Mishy also specialises in customised invitations and stationary that I can't wait to see. And Mishy has even made it really easy to order a custom logo and banner through the Mishy Lane Etsy store (so clever).

Cool Websites: One Blue Wren photography blog

Another thing I love about the ABCD meet-ups is meeting talented folks that I haven't come across before. One of those on Thursday night was the very clever Ashley; a Brisbane-based graphic designer and photographer who authors a lovely blog called One Blue Wren.

Ashley manages to capture light in her images in a way that I could never imagine. One Blue Wren is a collection of adventures, stories and memories that lure me into a dreamy state. I think you'll like it too. Get read to be wowed by the beautiful portraits of Ashley's friend Alarna on the site.

If you'd like to find out more about Ashley, check out her website, Flickr, and blog One Blue Wren, as well as her collaboration with her friend Leah - The Light Collectors. You can also purchase prints of her beautiful photography on Etsy.
