Strawberry season is upon us in Australia, and with punnets at their very freshest and cheapest, strawberries make a fabulous party theme. When little Izzy turned two, her Mum Zoe put together the cutest strawberry party, beautifully photographed by
Milk & Honey Photography in a park in Sydney's inner west. We are lucky to have Zoe share her tips and tricks with us on how to put together a strawberry party with lots of great savoury food ideas too.
Party: Izzy's Strawberry 2nd Birthday
Organised by: Mum - Zoe
Location: Laxton Reserve, Dulwich Hill
Theme: Berry-Sweet Strawberry Party

Invitation and party printables:
Hello Love Designs
Cake: Ombré strawberry cake with cheesecake frosting layers covered in ruffled swiss meringue buttercream frosting and "happy 2nd birthday Izzy" bunting topper, lovingly made by Zoe.
Party food: Cheesecake stuffed strawberries, homemade jelly stuffed strawberries, watermelon feta salad, chicken salad, caprese pops, trail mix, vegetable sticks with dip, Eton mess mason jars, pulled pork on brioche buns (Brasserie Bread), strawberry water and strawberry juice.
Decorations: Strawberry farm market stand (from IKEA), berry baskets (
deer little parties), strawberry balloons (
The Base Warehouse), hay stacks (Kensington Produce, Banksmeadow), eyelet paper lanterns (Martha Stewart), tablecloth made by Godmother, Kerry Xynias, fringe garland and bunting made by Zoe.
Birthday Girl Wears: White dress with Peter Pan collar, made with vintage, 1970s, Swedish broderie anglais (made by godmother, Kerry Xynias).
Games/activities: The jumping castle was a huge hit, pass the parcel with lots of crafty prizes, strawberry piñata.
Tips: Never hold an outdoor event, the wind has nearly destroyed every event I've ever hosted! Head to Pinterest for amazing themes and ideas.
Something special: Guests took home a strawberry plant instead of a lolly bag. Strawberry embroidered table-runner made by Great Grandmother, who never met Izzy but would have absolutely loved her to bits!! Godmother's 1960s doll made an appearance in dress matching the birthday girl's.
