Real Kids Room: Maya's 2-Year-Old Bedroom

Nicolle Kasper and her husband bought their first house 6 weeks before their daughter arrived and moved in two days before her due date - eeek! They didn't know if sweet Maya would be a boy or a girl, so designed the nursery with fun, non gender-specific colours that would work for both. They completely overhauled the rocker and made the book pocket themselves. What a fantastic result!

Room: Maya
Age: 2
Designed by: Mum Nicolle Kasper (Cultiver)
Location: Sydney, NSW

Cot: Stokke Sleepi
Cot blanket: an old cashmere throw of ours we use folded - dangerously giving Maya a taste for the finest things!
Rocking chair: We found the old rocker totally worn out in a junk shop. My husband sanded and painted it red and I had upholstery made with fabric from No Chintz.
Rug: Lilly & Lolly
Wall prints: Blanca Gomez
Mobile: a gift
Rabbit and chair: gift from a friend living in Japan
Stuffed owl: a gift
Hanging clothes: dress from DKNY, shirt from Country Road
Book shelf: We saw a picture on a blog of a wall mounted "book pocket” like this, so I put together a design and my husband made it. It was pretty simple! Its been great having it low where Maya can reach it and its a space saver her small room.

Nicolle has a keen sense of style, which you will also find pervading her gorgeous linen bedding label, Cultiver. Based in Sydney, Cultiver is a collection of chic and luxurious charcoal grey and white pure linen duvet covers, linen sheets and pillow cases. Here's a peak:

Thank you Nicolle for sharing with us Maya's beautiful bedroom and congratulations on your lovely bedding label. You can find Cultiver bedding in the online store.
