Rayman on YouTube

Michel Ancel is a genius. He is the original creator of Rayman, Beyond Good & Evil, the director of the Peter Jackson's King Kong game, and has returned to the Rayman franchise to produce the 4th installment of the game. Yet again, Michel has kicked it up a notch and introduced Killer Bunnies to the Rayman Raving Rabbids on the Nintendo Wii (a match made in heaven). Who doesn't love Killer Bunnies?!? What I am really impressed with are the quirky videos that Ubisoft have created to promote the game, and even more impressed with their high status on YouTube. Hopefully, by tapping in to this site, the Rayman character will finally get some serious brand awareness outside of Europe. Better still, fans are starting to make their own compilation videos which up the cool quotient. I think Let The Bunnies Hit The Floor should be the official video.

Beyond Good & Evil 7th Best GameCube Game Ever

I was particularly proud this week to see that GameSpy.com has awarded cult favourite game Beyond Good and Evil 7th best GameCube Game ever! I worked on BG&E when I was with Ubisoft in 2003 and it is still the best game I have played. Filmmaker Peter Jackson loved the game so much that he sought out the creator Michel Ancel (also the original creator of Rayman) to make the King Kong videogame of his new highly anticipated movie, due out at the end of this year. There is something very cinematic about Ancel's work - he's able to truly tell a story and keep you immersed with both the characters and the design. You can still buy BG&E at GameStop.com and EBGames.com and Amazon.com.
