Another great Mother's Day gift! One of my most exciting discoveries from the Eumundi Markets last weekend were these amazing coil rope bowls, bags, plant holders and other homewares from Queensland artisan Clare under her Zillpa label.
Clare hand-makes these gorgeous products by coiling cotton rope and stitching together with her industrial sewing machine. Not an easy task! The current collection includes nesting bowls, coasters, pot holders, plant hangers, three bag styles and key rings made-to-order. I'm in love with every piece, and can't wait to see Clare's new collection incorporating fabrics. Here's a sneak peek:
Totally gorgeous, don't you think? You can find Zillpa products in the online store as well as at markets and stockists around Australia. You will also find Zillpa at the always-inspiring BrisStyle Indie Markets this Saturday at Brisbane's newly refurbished City Hall from 9am-2pm, 11th May, 2013. (This new event is being held the 2nd Saturday of every month).

Events: Dear Charlotte, Love Banjo sale, BrisStyle Indie Eco Market and Free Range Living grand opening
Hi friends, hope you are gearing up for a glorious weekend. It finally feels like celebration time and I bet there will be barbies firing up all over the country over the next few days. Just thought I'd give you an update on some things that Bondville friends are hosting over the next few days if you're looking for something to do:
Dear Charlotte, Love Banjo is having a huge Pre-Christmas sale today only on the website. They are selling items from as cheap as $5 from all three collections. Original prices will resume as soon as the sale period is over. They are also including free Christmas gift wrapping, and free postage if you spend over $100. Head over before you miss out. Read more about this lovely label here on Bondville.
The BrisStyle Indie Eco Market is on tomorrow, showcasing the wares of BrisStyle members who "live; craft, stitch and dye by the mantra of reduce, reuse and recycle". Also available will be a selection of vintage, collectibles and crafty de-stash items all from the collections of the BrisStyle members. And don't miss the Indie Eco Workshops and demonstrations where participants will be able to explore their creative sides and "make and take" Eco items as well as newfound skills. Saturday November 12, 2011. 9am- 2pm, St Augustine's Church Hall and grounds, Racecourse Road, Hamilton, QLD. More information on the BrisStyle website.
Bondville Loves members and long-time Bondville readers Deni and Loren from Cheeky Chickies are opening the Free Range Living store this weekend in Sydney. The store is "an emporium of beautifully crafted Australian handmade gifts, fashion and home wares, and a creative learning environment to inspire all who visit". Congratulations Deni and Loren! Head over for the grand opening this weekend at Shop 1, 2-4 Prince Charles Parade, Kurnell, NSW 2231.

REread upcycled brooches
Did you notice the cool brooch that Sun on Masterchef was wearing this week? It was handmade by our very own Haylee Lees of REread in Brisbane.
Hayley salvages children's books that are being thrown out, or from markets to create her one-of-a-kind animal brooches, finished with resin. Anyone who reads the REread blog or follows Hayley on Twitter will know that she has a wicked sense of humour, and this is evident in many of her quirky brooches. Perfect to pin on coats, scarves and beanies with this chilly weather!
You can find REread brooches in the Etsy store as well as various markets (keep an eye on the REread blog for details).
REread brooches will also be available this Saturday at the BrisStyle Indie Designers Market in Brisbane (an excellent market!), 9th July, 2011, 9am-2pm at St Augustine Church Hall and grounds, Racecourse Rd, Hamilton, NSW. In fact, this was the very market that I bought a REread cat brooch at for my sister in Vancouver a few years ago (hope you like it J!)
