Kate Lauren Designs timeless bedding and decor for babies, kids and teens

If you love an elegant, timeless look, and you're tired of the department store and chain store bedding and decor for kids, you just might fall in love with the co-ordinating collections of Kate Lauren Designs.

Based in Brisbane, mother-of-three Julie Parianos has designed a truly beautiful collection of co-ordinating bedding and room decor for babies, children and teenagers.

Each collection is named after one of Julie's children or their friends and includes cot, single and king-size single bedding, blankets, cushions, and lampshades. There is also wall decor, bunting, furniture (gorgeous Moroccan pouffes) and a range of fabric lanterns to mix-and-match.

I am so taken with the Zachary Hunter grey chevron bedding and co-ordinating decor. It's a beautiful and well-thought-through range that will easily take a child through the teenage years. My daughter has tough-to-match mint green walls in her bedroom, and I'm also thinking that the Charlotte Paige set with the blue and grey stripes and spots on white would work well. What are you favourites?

You can find Kate Lauren Designs in the online store as well as stockists across Australia.

Hip Products: m2matiz t.lighthaus© lanterns and photography

These t.lighthaus© lanterns are such a clever concept by photographers, graphic arts and designers m2matiz. Melbourne-based Mariana and partner designed these chic translucent lanterns to be placed over a tealight candle (preferably in a reused glass jar), creating a soft glow and highlighting the beautiful photographic design.

m2matiz also sells a range of stationery printed and handcrafted in Melbourne including gift cards, gift tags, journals and prints, showcasing the gorgeous photography of the m2matiz team. I'm of course partial to the very Australian eucalyptus blossom photographs; always a great gift for overseas friends and family. And wherever possible m2matiz reduses, reuses and uses recycled materials in the range of products.

You can order m2matiz products through designer Mariana directly (check the website for details), on Etsy and from stockists around Australia.

Hip Products: MOZI Cockatoo Lamp

I've been obsessing over cockatoo lamps for a while - they are such a throwback to the heady design days of Florence Broadhurst, kitsch Australiana and Art Deco in Australia. I'm so thrilled to let you know that Aussie design favourite MOZI has released a gorgeous white sulphur crested cockatoo lamp in their Melbourne store with both white and black linen shades. And it's spectacular!!!

The cockatoo lamps were made for MOZI by an artist in Wagga Wagga - slip cast, hand painted and then made from stoneware. You can spy a white lamp in the store window in the top image and see the lamp in more detail in the bottom image (the black and yellow shade is not available).

You can find the cockatoo lamps at the MOZI store at 769 Glenferrie Rd Hawthorn, VIC. Interstate shipping is also available. If you can't get to the store, you can order by phone (03) 9885 9789. RRP is AUD$330 including the shade (plain black or white).

This is right at the top of my wishlist (hint husband).
