Loving: Saffron Craig Banksia Bloom fabric collection

You all know by now that I am a sucker for Australiana, and I swooned when I spotted the Banksia Bloom fabric collection by my friend Saffron Craig this morning. Kookaburras and Banksias with a teal blue and grey colourway. Divine! Head over to the Saffron Craig online store. Read more about Saffron here on Bondville.

Saffron Craig Magical Lands textile release + 15% discount CODE!

Renowned textile designer and Bondville buddy Saffron Craig has just released a new collection of fabrics, tantalisingly-named "Magical Lands". Saffron's fabrics are much-loved by quilters, and would also make amazing bed sheet sets, curtains, pillows, and girls' room accessories. I think these designs would also work beautifully for childrenswear. Or bags. Or purses. The list goes on.

The hero piece of this collection - "Magical Lands" - was inspired by the sunrise over Kata Tjuta in the Northern Territory. With Australia Day just a few days away, it's got me thinking again about introducing more Australian fauna and flora into my home decorating. Does it get any more Australian than the red centre? Paired here perfectly with dandelions on cream, pink and white.

You can find Saffron Craig in the online store. Even better, Saffron is offering Bondville readers 15% discount on the Magical Lands collection! Simply use the code Bondville at the online check out. (Postage is free for orders over $150)

Beetle Bugs by Saffron Craig

All-round sassy gal and fabric designer-extraordinaire Saffron Craig has released a fun series of designs based on beetles and bugs.

Saffron's daughter loves collecting creepy crawlies and her finds inspired these new "Beetle Bugs" designs that would sit perfectly in a boy's room or toy room. Doesn't the room above look amazing? I'm thinking bean bags, playtime teepees, and the perfect three-quarter length shorts for boys.

You can find Saffron Craig fabrics in the online store and more about Saffron on her blog. Read more about Saffron Craig here on Bondville.

Drool-worthy Design: Saffron Craig textiles

With Valentine's Day around the corner, I'm seeing heart motifs all over the place, but this particular design (pictured above left) caught my eye. Sydney-based Saffron Craig's hand printed textiles are youthful and fresh, and this heart print with fairies would be perfect for a child's craft project - maybe a bandana, or an apron dress, or a backpack. I can also imagine it on a lamp shade, throw pillow or laundry sack in an all-white nursery.

Saffron is a master of children's fabric design, but she also creates a range of chic nature-inspired textiles for grown-ups, quilt kits, and handmade products including girls' dresses (like the delightful one pictured above right). I just have to mention the funky owl and dinosaur softie craft panels that would be especially good for anyone new to sewing.

You can find Saffron Craig goodies at the online store as well as various stockists. Find out more about the projects that inspire Saffron on her blog. (and a shout-out here to her husband Patrick, too, who is an integral part of the design team).
