Sydney abcd Saturday Soiree photos

I can't tell you how much fun it was for Lisa and I to put together the theme and decor for our latest Sydney abcd meetup for art, craft and design bloggers a few weeks ago. We tracked down a great venue (thanks Jessica!), met with the function manager, dreamed up a concept, decided on colour palette, shared ideas, scoured stores for streamers and sequins, crafted up a storm, roped in some earlybirds (thanks Amy, Nicola, Alison, Kamilla and Kareena!), and styled up the Ruby L'otel in Rozelle for our Saturday Soiree.

We were lucky enough to have the talented Anni from Milk and Honey Photography capture our afternoon. Here are some of Anni's beautiful photos:

How lucky were we to have the most amazing ombre peach cake (with lemon-layered sponge interior), made by Alison from Alison Lawson Cakes, to match our theme. Read more about Alison's cake here. It wasn't long before we all got chatting, sipping, and consuming the delicious Pat & Stick's Homemade Ice Cream Co. sandwiches (read more here):

The abcd goodie bag was as popular as ever, with lots of handmade goodies, fabric samples, sweet things, and more. See all the goodies here. Anni took some shots of us with our goodies in front of our streamer curtain:

Tara (Dudley Redhead) and Andrea (Andrea Smith)
Jenn (The Blissfull Brush) and Robyn (Posh Nosh)
Kate (Another Donkey Design) and T (Designed To A T)
The conversations continued as the sun set lower, and the candles were lit and we finished off that amazing cake...
Amy (Badskirt)
Kristen (Kristen Doran Design), Amy (Badskirt) and Sasha (Faint Impressions)
... and finally we packed up and squirreled away our goodie bags chock-full of handmade goodness.

It was truly a fabulous afternoon. Thank you so much to all the Sydney art, craft and design bloggers who made the afternoon so special (and even frocked up!). A huge thank-you goes to my friend Lisa who patiently waded through my Pinterest boards, sourced, crafted and organised our Saturday Soiree with me. I can't wait until our next event.

Alison Lawson Cakes - the peach ombre cake

When Alison (of Alison Lawson Cakes) contacted me a few months ago about collaborating on a project, I knew that one of her amazing cakes would be perfect for our special abcd Saturday Soiree, held a few weeks ago. Alison was keen to try her hand at an ombre cake, and once Lisa and I gave her our colour palette for the abcd meetup, she concocted this absolutely incredible three-tiered layered lemon cake.

Divine! And I can honestly tell you that the cake itself packed a delicious citrus-y punch and was super-moist. Truly a magnificent, and luxurious experience to enjoy. (oh, and did I mention that Alison is the sweetest, loveliest person you could ever work with?).

And how about these gorgeous images of Alison and her cake, thanks to the wonderful Anni from Milk and Honey Photography, who captured our event.

You can contact Bowral-based Alison via her Website. Thank you Alison for sharing this beautiful cake with us!

You can read more about Alison Lawson Cakes here on Bondville. Stay tuned for more amazing photos from our latest Sydney abcd meetup.
