My 10 picks from The Finders Keepers market

Happy Mother's Day for yesterday! I hope you had a great day; mine started with can't-be-topped cuddles and handmade cards from the kids and an amazing breakfast and cup of chai tea made by my husband. Then my little family took me to Autumn/Winter 2015 The Finders Keepers market in Sydney where we spent a few hours checking out all the goods, catching up with friends and making new ones. I didn't get to see every stall, but here are my 10 picks, including cute kids' fashion and artwork (and a little something for grown-ups too)...

1. Freddy Alphabet

Freddy Alphabet creates super-cool graphic screen-printed designs for kids 0 to 6 years, featuring on bags, posters and cushions that are stuffed with a mix including recycled P.E.T. bottles. Onesies fit 0 to 18 months and tees/jumpers are available from 2 to 6 years. Find Freddy Alphabet in the online store and stockists in NSW and VIC.

2. Lil' Creatures
Oh my goodness, the cuteness of the animal onesies by Newcastle-based Carly Byrne from Lil' Creatures. Terry towelling rompers mean supreme cosiness for little ones in sizes 0 to 2 years. Find Lil' Creatures in the online store.

3. For Me By Dee
Daniella Lo Presti of For Me By Dee is a Melbourne-based illustrator and designers whose gorgeous animals grace art work, gift cards and stationery, printed locally. Her pet and toy portraits are amazing. Find For Me By Dee in the online store and stockists around Australia and NZ.

4. Tina Mose
Illustrator Tina Mose's artwork has a clean aesthetic and features fun characters that would look amazing in a child's room. I'm so taken with the bearded sailors and rosy cheeked girls. You can find Tina Mose artwork in the online store and stockists in Australia, France and Denmark. (Quicksticks for 30% off selected prints in the online store before 14th May 2015).

5. Anya Brock
Well. We totally fell for this block cockatoo original painting by Anya Brock, but it was already sold (of course). Luckily, Anya also stocks a whole range of prints, cushions and other products to add a big dose of colour to any room. You can find Anya Brock in the online store and in her galleries in Paddington, NSW and Perth,WA - read more about buying here.

6. One Hectare
Adelaide-based One Hectare has a great folk style that would add some Scandi-cool to a nursery or child's room. All artworks and stationery are designed and printed locally on 100% recycled papers using environmentally-responsible printers. My 7-year-old went bananas for this One Hectare koala design and I thought the artworks printed on timber blocks looked great too. You can find One Hectare in the online store as well as stockists around Australia and NZ.

7. Pete Cromer | Laura Blythman | Enemies Yay!
I'm a massive fan of Laura Blythman and it was so great to meet her in real life yesterday and get a hug in person! Laura's stall was as always amazing and she has teamed up with the incredible Pete Cromer (that's Pete's Blaze print above) to show both their work, as well as their collaboration, Enemies Yay! More on that soon.... In the meantime, you can find their respective work in Laura's online shop, Pete's online shop and the Enemies Yay! online shop.

8. James Gulliver Hancock
Another piece that both my husband and I loved was this All The Buildings In Sydney silkscreen print by James Gulliver Hancock. The dimensions and quality are amazing. James is a very much in-demand illustrator, so it's pretty special to be able to own a piece of his work for your (or your little one's) room. You can find James Gulliver Hancock books, prints, colouring books, and stationery in the online store.

9. Chrysa Koukoura
I was drawn to Chryas Koukoura's fine pen on paper artwork when I was in Melbourne last weekend (at The Rose St Markets), and was thrilled to see her work at The Finders Keepers again this weekend. The simple black and white with a splash of colour here and there will work in any child's room. How great are the bugs! All her work is printed on 100% recycled paper using accredited sustainable printers. You can find Chrysa Koukoura in her online store and stockists around the world.

10. ALAS
Betony and Kelly from organic sleepwear label ALAS designs seriously cool pyjamas, lounge-wear, jumpsuits, slippers, kimono robes and more. I'm all about the Wilbur print fleece pullover and pants. You can find ALAS in the online store and stockists around the world.

It was also so nice to catch up with the lovely designers from Love Mae, Emily Green, Milk & Masuki, Bespoke Letterpress Boutique, The Chaos Club, and many more. How lucky we are to have so much home-grown indie design talent in Australia!

Did you get to The Finders Keepers on the weekend? What did you love?
