This child's study is a great example of the new 80s style as interpreted by Bree Leech & Heather Nette King for Dulux, and photographed by Lisa Cohen.
I've also noticed this shape-confetti style popping up at a few other favourite Australian design brands. Here are some interesting shapes from Gorman's homewares line (also reflected in their fashion)...
And Beci Orpin's signature graphic style at Arro Home...
And two quite different patterns that speak to the same trend at Melbourne fashion label Obus...
Much-loved Australian lifestyle brand Kip & Co. always embraces colour, and this season's collection also includes a shape confetti-style design on bedding and leisure wear...
SackMe! has fun children's bedding in the Shake Shape design that's Memphis-inspired and bang on-trend:
It's fun and refreshing to see the more organic shapes sitting together with traditional geometric angles. This style is decidedly anti-minimalist, and celebrates the more-is-more aesthetic. You can make this look work in your own interiors by giving the shapes some decent breathing space using white or a neutral tone for balance.
What do you think - are you loving the eighties-influence style, or do you prefer a more pared-back Scandi design?
