Birthday: 5th Birthday Party adventure
Organised by: Birthday Boy Eti and his Mum Anni
Location: An adventure starting at Balmain East Ferry Wharf and ending with a treasure hunt and birthday picnic at Wendy Whiteley Secret Garden, Lavender Bay, NSW.
Theme: Adventure + Yellow Ducks
Cake: Yellow Duck
Decorations: Djeco hand-sewn birds, orange vintage sheet bunting.
Handmade: Eti drew the duck picture for his invitation, Mum made the cake, muffins and chocolate chip cookies in the shape of ducks with the help of a cookie cutter. Dad Matthew painted yellow letters on the paper bag goodie bags so that the kids could choose their own letter.
Catering: Bagel House mini-bagels.
Tips: The kids made their own goodie bags by collecting treasure hidden throughout the garden, including wooden finger-puppets and mini toys sourced from Sydney's Paddy's Markets, Smiggle duck erasers and mini chocolcate bars.
Something Special: The adventure of catching the ferry and walking past Luna Park to the Wendy Whiteley Garden was great entertainment for the kids. The treasure hunt was a great way to build the goodie bags and tire out the guests at the end of the day.

ReplyDeleteLove the ferry ride, and the duck inspiration!
Beautiful photography, and all of the baking looks fab!
Loads of lovely memories I'm sure!
Love the idea of the kids fillig their own goodie bags as part of the party! That's one I'll remember for when Liam is a little older... Love the pics, and especially the invite. Matthew & Laura were actually the photographers for my sister's wedding a couple of days ago - such lovely people and can't wait to see the photos!! Such a coincidence to see Eti's party blog post just after Liam's :) Carolyn xx
